Environmental Impact Analysis

This is the Supply Change.™

Improving the environment. Improving your bottom line.

The opportunity

Sustainability and cost savings are no longer mutually exclusive. They go hand in hand.

We’ll collaborate with you, look at every leg and aspect of your supply chain, and fi nd ways to reduce its impact on the environment. We can show you how sustainability—doing what’s right for the environment—doesn’t get in the way of doing what’s right for your business. In fact, it makes it better.

Reducing our impact on the environment is everyone’s job. And for more than 60 years, it has been a job we’ve taken seriously. Sharing resources. Reusing resources. Using less resources. That's at the core of our values and our business model. It's how our share and reuse model for platforms (e.g. pallets, trays, containers) enables our customers to improve the health and well-being of their business and the planet.

We’ll combine our care for the environment with our global experience and our unique position at the core of thousands of supply chains. We’ll apply our expertise and look at all aspects of your supply chain.

We’ll find places to eliminate waste, so you can achieve the twin missions of reducing your costs and your environmental impact.

What we do

We’ll look at your entire supply chain and determine how we can help you handle and transport your products at a lower cost to your business and a lower cost to the environment.

We’ll find ways to help you eliminate waste, increase your efficiencies, lower costs and use more sustainable materials.

We’ll help you fi gure out how to eliminate the cost of empty lanes—and the fuel and wasteful CO2 emissions that go along with them. We can help you, like we’ve helped so many other companies, reduce the amount of damaged product ending up in landfi lls. We can also help you reduce the number of trips needed to transport goods and platforms to and from your facilities.

Because we have the broadest range of reusable, environmentally friendly platforms, we can also help you determine where you can use eco-friendly platforms at a lower cost to your business.

Finally, we can help you quantify and measure your environmental sustainability progress. We also have the experience needed to help get your sustainability initiatives adopted throughout your organisation. Together, we can make a difference.

Global Good: As a company, we've built our share and reuse platform model around our deep and abiding respect for the environment. We're a global leader in the understanding of the many ways to eliminate waste through the supply chain. We're committed to helping our customers meet and exceed their sustainability goals. It's all part of CHEP's Better Planet initiative, as we work to minimise the impact of the supply chain on the environment.

A Value Chain Analysis charts your entire supply chain to identify all areas of environmental improvement.

Only CHEP:

CHEP is a founding member of the Retail and Supplier Roundtable - Sustainability Council*. The Sustainability Council’s vision is to lead consumer goods industry collaboration on documenting and promoting consistent sustainability practices and continuous improvement across the supply chain. In New Zealand our Service Centres are part of Certifi ed Emissions Measurement Reductions Scheme (CEMARS), which helps our  customers by providing transparency of our environmental commitment and carbon efficient facilities. The CHEP sustainability strategy is aligned with many of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

We’ve worked with many of the world’s leading supply chains. We’ve learned how to make them more sustainable, and when and where to employ best practices. We offer a broad range of sustainable conveyance  platforms, solutions and measured results. We look forward to working with you to help make your company more environmentally friendly.

How we quantify our environmental benefits:
We conduct a Life Cycle Assessment that focuses on the entire life cycle of a platform, from raw material acquisition to final disposition. We use Life Cycle Inventory data to identify and prioritise continuous improvement initiatives across our organisation. This quantifies resource use, energy consumption and environmental emissions using the ISO 14040 and 14044 standards, which provide comprehensive and standardised methodology. You’ll clearly see how our solutions help minimise your environmental impact.
